Dan’s first days in the Lost Sierra were spent as a Forestry student while attending UC Berkeley. His field courses took him throughout the area, instilling in him a deep connection with the land and people he encountered. He then fought fires for the U.S. Forest Service in Plumas National Forest for three years before launching his career in architecture and construction, leading to his own Design/Build firm.

Over the past 11 years, Dan has filled many roles at Nakoma Resort, including General Manager, Director of Sales, and today, he serves as Vice President of Development.

As the principal in Nakoma’s in-house Design-Build firm, North Sierra Homes, Dan has the opportunity to help bring each client’s vision to life, a privilege he relishes. His dual roles in development and design leverage Dan’s incomparable knowledge of, and vision for, the Nakoma Community.
